Richard Dreyfuss created such a close representation in his mashed potatoes in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. In fact, we watched the movie the night before we hit the trails around Devil’s Tower. Loved the movie, loved the park, loved the cute prairie dog town.

Wyoming– Conquering Devil’s Tower

Native Americans observe June as a holy month, so climbers abstain from scaling the mountain out of respect for the Native American tradition.
