Arlington, a beautiful Greek Revival home in Birmingham, managed to survive Sherman’s march during the Civil War. Alabama–Dreamland BBQ (Birmingham)

A friend of mine who grew up in Birmingham suggested Dreamland BBQ which has grown into a statewide chain. The original joint (in Tuscaloosa) became famous for its BBQ ribs, but the BBQ chicken and pork were delish, too.
