Mt. Hood’s snowy cap rises above the Portland area and the drive there winds through small towns and forest. When we got to Timberline Lodge on the mountain, the kids had such fun in the music room and play area. There were other kids there, too, so if you can foot the bill, try to stay at the lodge. And I think it’s cool that parts of The Shining were filmed there.
