About the Mommies
We love travel. We love stories. We love sharing stories about travel. We love our families and love that they love to travel.
In 2009, we will travel throughout the northwest, southwest, midwest, and southeast of the United States, with our two toddlers.
In this endeavor, our hope is twofold.
First, that this site will provide practical resources for family travel planning.
Second, that the stories on this site will show our inner journey (see the Wandering Thoughts category) as we travel across the globe. We will focus on mama travel stories, but will also pass on others’ stories as they pass us by. We are world travelers, lovers of culture, and students of belief, so we hope to open the world to those who come and visit here.
Thanks for stopping by.

Great site! Love this idea. Good luck with all of your travels/adventures.
Thanks so much! One day, maybe we’ll come through your neck of the woods and we’ll get to meet in person!
Camille, great website so far. I hope you four have a happy and safe trip across the US. The weather couldn’t be any better right now. Louise Moffat
p.s. It was great seeing you in Destin.
Thanks, Louise. That makes me feel good…we’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback. I’m sure we’ll catch up with you after the big trip.
Holy Crap… that is almost identical to the trip I’ve been planning. I want to drive down route 66, up highway 1, across the north to minnesota and back down. Course… my boss won’t give me that much time off… still working on that one.
It was life changing. Hopefully you’ll get to do your trip soon.
My husband and I did a two month road trip across Americas perimeter (kidless tho) —we were disillusioned had been working up the career ladder, is this all there is sort of thing. First stop was Big Sur on Hwy 1…be sure to stop in at Nepenthe for a bite overlooking the Pacific Ocean…it’s real casual, so I’m sure kid friendly. Every person in our country needs, needs to do this. Stay off the interstates and travel on the secondary freeways were you can still go 55 but allows you to really see the country. It renewed our spirit in being an American which I think we can all use a dose of that from time to time. Safe travels!
Jennifer, I am so happy to hear this validation. Two SAHMs hitting the road with our kids for two months definitely is outside of the box thinking. My family members kept telling me to come back home because they were uncomfortable with the idea. It’s exactly how you say…seeing America this way rejuvenates your soul and reconnects you. Thanks so much for your comment.
Hi Camille, Finally was able to read more of your traveling adventures. This has been fascinating and makes me want to travel.
See you Saturday? Barbara
